What’s the best piece of beauty advice you’ve ever received? Was it from your mama? Your girlfriend?
Warning….this is probably the longest post I’ve done to date.
But keep reading….I share a little secret with you.
When I was younger, my mom was adamant about me taking care of my skin. When I turned 15, she allowed me to wear make up. But very little, I might add. A little face powder, a little mascara, and a little blush and lipgloss. That’s it. And it was a known fact, that if I wore make up, I knew I had to wash it off, no matter how tired I was at night. Period! It was never up for debat.
THANK YOU, MOM!!
I’ll share a little secret with you. I have always wanted to be an esthetician. Again, thanks to my mom, aka, my BFF. She had problematic skin growing up and made it one of her life missions to ensure that I didn’t. It’s because of her that I wanted into this field. In our talks growing up, she shared with me how her self-esteem was shattered because of her skin. Kids can be so mean. As she got older and her skin cleared up, it was still hard and uncomfortable for her to come out of her shell. This season in her life clearly took a toll on her character and self-esteem. So knowing that, I just knew I wanted to go to school to try and make a difference in someone’s life. I wanted to help others experiencing this pain. I clearly {no pun intended} wanted to do whatever I could to help others feel pretty and have the confidence to go out there and do whatever it was they desired. But then life happened and I married my high school sweetheart and started a family. I ended up getting my Paralegal degree. Haha!! So when I talk skincare, please know I am talking from the heart and would never stir you wrong. Skincare is ingrained in me. Wheeeewww….ok, back to my post.
I tell my girlfriends, you know the ones that say they don’t wash their face every night because they are too tired or didn’t have time, “You can’t wax a dirty car. If you want your make up to look good, you need to start by taking care of your skin.” I mean really, who would put their make up on the next day without removing it the night before?! Don’t answer that.
If you’ve been reading my posts, you know that I recently changed to another skincare line after being with a line for 7 years annnnnd I haven’t looked back. No joke! I purchased this travel kit to take on our vacation to Florida and I AM IN LOVE WITH THESE ANIT-AGE PRODUCTS. I’ve been using TULA for 4 months and have been very pleased with the results. And anyone that knows me, knows that this is a BIG DEAL. I just don’t change skincare products every other month. What has also impressed me, is their outstanding customer service. I am a HUGE fan of customer service. Yes, I am that girl that if you show me good sincere and honest customer service, I’ll be back and will tell all my girlfriends about my experience.
I can’t say enough about these products. No, this is NOT a paid advertisement. I want to share with you this incredible find. If you haven’t tried this product, I highly recommend that you do.
For a limited time, you can get a Skin Essential Trial Kit for $19.99 plus shipping. This kit will last you 14 days and is able time for you to see positive results from the inside out.
Here are some of my beauty tips straight from my mom and a few others I’ve learned along the way:
THE ULITIMATE RULE
Make sure you always (and I mean ALWAYS) remove your makeup before hitting the sheets.
SUN AND SKIN
Apply sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
Eat fresh fruits, greens, sufficient protein and vitamins.
H2O TO THE RESCUE
Hydrate yourself. Drink lots of water daily, at least 8 glasses, if not more.
THE GOLDEN RULE
“Skincare is essential, makeup is a choice. Make good choices.”
