2018 had lots of ups and downs and I’ve grown so much. As I reflect on last year and prepare my heart for 2019, I want to enter this year with a new and fresh perspective. I once read that once you’ve been through something big and hard your eyes get new lenses, and you see the entire world differently. I’d have to say in the past 5 years I have gotten a few new sets of lenses…This past year made my vision so much clearer, and for that I’m thankful.
My word of the year is “Courage.” Courage is something that everybody wants — an attribute of good character that makes us worthy of respect. This year I have many goals, both personal and business, because how do you get anything exciting done without them?! But what I have on my list requires me to step out of my comfort zone and really rely on God.
Most importantly, this year I want to do my best to live in the moment and to also understand that I am not in control of what happens, but I am in control of the way I handle it and react to it. My goal is to be joyous in whatever season I’m in. Be happy with where I am, not miss out on the good that happens every day, as I slowly but surely tackle a goal list 3 miles long. Submit to exactly where my feet are as I plan and dream for bigger things. So when I look back on 2019, no matter what surprises the year brings, I want to say that I had courage and joy in the journey. 🙂
