With all of the go, go, go that comes with being busy, working women, sometimes our own health falls to the wayside. I so get it, not everyone has the time to hit a two-hour Pilates class every day…I certainly don’t! But I am determined to find a balance and seek out simple ways to improve my health on the daily.

Daily Devotions
Take 15 to 30 minutes at the beginning of your day to read a devotional. Be selfish and intentional with this time. I read this devotional every day. It may take some time to get into the habit of doing a daily devotion. At first, the payoff may not seem obvious, but once devotions become a part of your daily life, you will begin to feel their amazing benefits.
Increase Intake of Hydrating Foods
Seems like every wellness article I’ve read tells me to drink my body weight in water, and well, I think you should! But just in case you’re not the best at guzzling gallons of water in one sitting, try snacking on it! Foods like cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, tomatoes and zucchinis are about 95 percent water. Think of it as killing two birds with one stone. I just ordered this hydrating inner beauty boost to add in my water! Stay tuned and I will let you know my thoughts.
Micro-Dose Your Vitamin D
Set a timer on your phone, write it on your to-do list, do whatever you need to do to incorporate fresh air into your day. Before lunch each day, head outside for a 15-minute walk and soak up the sunshine. Fifteen minutes may not sound like much, but it’s enough to get your blood pumping and also shift your mindset. Pencil in a minimum of one walk per day, but if you can swing more, do it!
Eat Mindfully
I am so guilty of this. See my (*guilty hand raised*) We eat like it’s just something else to check off our to-do list. We often eat our lunch at our desk in front of a computer, or at home in front of the television. This often leads to overeating or mindless snacking! When it’s time to eat a meal, choose somewhere intentional to sit that doesn’t involve devices with screens. This will help you feel mindful as you eat, breathing between bites, and taking note of when your body is satisfied.
See Ways to Simplify Your Life
From staying organized to committing to minimalism, there are countless ways to simplify your life at any given time. To find out where you most need simplification, think about the biggest stressors in your personal life. How can you reduce this stress? What can you cut out? Ask yourself these questions to find out how to benefit most from a more simple lifestyle. Emily’s book is the perfect tool to help you simply. She also does an Annual Simplicity Challenge #SimplicityChallenge2019 on her Instagram that has helped me tremendously. Starting every January 1 – 1 step every day for 30 days. Each small task takes 15 minutes or less! I highly recommend getting her book and bookmarking your calendar for her #SimplicityChallenge2019.
