Hi there! I’ve been a little MIA on the blog. Lots of things happening in my world and I’ve had to shift my focus on what matters the most, and that’s my family.
Life Lately
For those of you that aren’t aware, my mom has been living with lung cancer since 2016. I’ve been by her side since the very beginning doing my best to support her in any way. We’ve have chemo and radiation and we now go every 3 weeks for immunotherapy treatments. It’s our new normal. Praising God, as she’s being doing really good. However, after my mom had a routine mammogram done, a small (less than 7mm) spot was detected. (This is why it’s so important to get screened). The biopsy showed it was cancer. We are in the process of scheduling surgery and seeing a radiologist for treatment after the surgery. Oh, I forgot to add that my step-dad had a total knee replacement, so there’s that – and if you’ve ever had your husband, father or any male figure in your life to recover from any type of surgery, you know what all that entails. I’m just so glad we opted not to give him a bell. LOL! So in between, I’ve been juggling working full-time, getting my son ready for school, continuing to maintain my IG account, and doing whatever my mom needs, at times we’ve stayed with them, so my mom could get some rest. So to say I’ve been out of my routine, just touches the surface. We meet with the radiologist next week and if things stay as is, my mom will be having surgery September 3rd. I’m not going to lie, my faith has been tested and at times, it has been a bit overwhelming, but then I am reminded by the sweet presence of the Lord that He is the one in control and the ultimate healer.
