Random acts of kindness make the world go round. Helping others is what we should all strive to be about. The more we help one another the more we help the world. Treat everyone with respect and they’ll treat you with respect as well. This revolving door approach to random acts of kindness is what we need to see every day.
Today, I’d like to share with you five random acts of kindness that have nothing to do with spending your money, but will, in fact make you and someone else very happy. Your welcome. :0
Donate Your Old Stuff
I usually purge my closet twice a year, (sometimes more, if I’m feeling extra spunkie). However, I never toss anything in the garbage. I’ll usually have a few of my girlfriends have first dibs on the clothes before I donate them. Side note: Don’t be so quick to trash old towels, blankets and bedding. Instead, you should donate them to your local animal shelters.
Offer to Babysit
Yes, I know we all are busy. But I’m sure you can offer 2 hours to your BFF and her hubby for a night out. If a family member or friend has a child, offer to play babysitter for free so they can get some much-needed alone time.
Make Lunch for a Coworker
Do you ever wonder how often a certain coworker actually sits at her desk for lunch and takes calls while munching on a granola bar? Tell them that tomorrow’s lunch will be on you, and make them your best dish.
Put Your Phone Away
This act of kindness isn’t exactly the easiest for most of us. Think about how many times you pick up your phone during dinner, or how you half-listen to your friend at lunch while scrolling through Instagram. Instead, be kind by giving people your full attention and actually listen. You’ll be surprised how good being present in the moment feels.
Be Kind to Yourself
How can you make others happy? By spreading your own happiness around. You work hard, so why not treat yourself today and be kind to yourself. Say only positive things to your reflection, and allow yourself that hour of me time to unwind. Do something that makes you feel good, and others will notice.
Do you have certain random acts of kindness that you do on the daily? I would love to hear about them.
